Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant has been fined for a slow over-rate during the ongoing IPL season. This marks Pant’s first violation of the season as captain of LSG.
In their recent match against the Mumbai Indians, the Lucknow Super Giants secured a thrilling victory, defending a total of 203/8 at the Ekana Stadium. Strong performances from Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram, both of whom scored half-centuries, along with late contributions from Ayush Badoni and David Miller, helped set up the winning total. In this inning, MI captain Hardik Pandya achieved his career-best T20 figures, taking 5 wickets for 36 runs.

However, the Mumbai Indians struggled in their chase. Their new opening combination failed to provide a solid start, and although middle-order batsmen Naman Dhir and Surya Kumar Yadav fought hard, but MI ultimately fell short by 12 runs, suffering their third defeat of the season.
The chase also featured a controversial decision involving the retired hurt decision of Tilak Varma and a celebration by Digvesh Singh, which led to another fine in this match.
With this fine, Rishabh Pant joins Hardik Pandya, who has already been penalized for slow over-rates in two matches, and Riyan Parag, who was fined in his match against Chennai Super Kings.
